If you get more dark brown fluid out the second time, pour it into the emulsion and mix well well for several minutes. You might try mixing a bit of warm water back in the sensitizer bottle, and shaking it well, and pour it into the emulsion again. You have to use warm water to mix it and shake the piss out of it, and then you have to mix it in with the body of the emulsion really thoroughly, it should be a uniform green color ( No streaks of blue or brown) when you're done. If the emulsion wasn't a green color, either the sensitizer didn't get dissolved well and didn't get mixed in withe emulsion completely. Lastly, is it important that I mix my emulsion in the dark, or can I do that anywhere? Will I be fine without one, or is it imperative that I get one? Unrelated question: How important is it for me to lay down a piece of glass on top of my transparency while the image is exposing? I don't have a piece of glass that is big enough for the design I'm currently working on (11''x11''). Is that a sign that the sensitizer wasn't mixed properly before being added to the emulsion? Or is it possible that we just bought a faulty product? Is there anyway to redeem this batch, or do I just have to buy a new batch? The emulsion never turned fully green, but rather more of a teal or turquoise. I'm thinking there is something wrong with this batch of emulsion. We tried extending the drying time, and extending the exposure time. Went and bought a new batch of emulsion and I've had 4 or 5 failed attempts since. Bought a kit several weeks ago and made 2 screens with the emulsion that came with it without a problem. If your post doesn't post, message a mod.īeginner at screen printing. ![]() Show us your work!
